Selena Gomez has a worldwide reputation as an actor and singer. She's worked on many projects, but the Disney series Wizards of Waverly Place has enjoyed the highest success. Selena Marie Gomez's full name is Selena Marie Gomez. The birthplace of Selena was Grand Prairie, Texas on the 22nd day of July 1992. Amanda Cornett, and Ricardo Gomez are her parents. Selena's mother was just 16 years old when she came into the world. When she was 9 she was offered her first position in show business when she received the part of Gianna in Barney and her Friends. So she was one of several children to play with Barney, the infamous Pink Dinosaur, an anthropomorphic dinosaur. Selena played a role in some episodes of season 7 and 8. Between 2001 and 2003, she was a part of the cast. Fun fact: Selena is not the only performer who appeared on Barney and Friends at this time; Demi Lovato also was part of the ensemble cast for the series. After leaving the series Selena Gomez auditioned for several parts in different programs as well as films, but wasn't particularly successful. In 2003, she played the role of a minor character for a small part in Mini Spies 3: (Spy Kids 3D: Game Over), and played Julie as Julie in Walker Texas Ranger Trial by Fire. As of 2006, she was also given the part that of Emily Grace Garcia for the Brain Zapped show. She also wrote a song.
